The Windows version of the TRiLOGI software is a "client-server" software suite which is designed from the ground up to allow PLC programming across a network. The software comprises two parts: the "Client" and the "Server". For F-series and Nano-10 PLC that has built-in Ethernet and is connected to the LAN or the Internet, only the "Client" program need to be run on the PC in order to connect to the PLC.

For PLC that does not have built-in Ethernet port, such as the M-series, the Server can run on a PC and the PC is connected to the PLC via serial port (RS232 or RS485). The Client can be run on the same computer or on a different computer from the Server. Hence as long as the computers are networked (including connection to the Internet) this architecture permits remote programming of the PLC via the Internet in exactly the same way as when programming the PLC locally.
