Note that the outputs are NPN type, which means that it sinks current when turned ON. What this means is that you need to connect the anode of your LED to the +24V, and the cathode of your LED through a series resistor (depending on the current you want to pass thru the LED) and then connect to the output of the PLC.

When the output is OFF, the cathode of the LED is at about 24V so it will not light up. When the PLC output turns on, it becomes 0V hence allowing the current to pass from the anode of the LED to the cathode and then through the series resistor and then to 0V, hence completing the circuit for current the flow.

Please refer to the PLC's installation guide for the wiring diagram of the outputs.

: Hi...I am having challenges with the outputs on my T100MD1616+. The outputs are turning on, and I know they have current because I can use these outputs to turn on other inputs on the PLC; however, I am trying to use an output to turn on an LED that is currently hooked up to an electronics bread board. I know the LED is good, because I lights up when fed 12V. Do I need to run more power to the bread board other than the output?
